My name is Luke, I am currently interning at ActNow. With everything that is going on around us in the 21st century it is so easy to ignore the important issues of our day. Many problems seem so large and so out of our control, especially as young people, that it's often tempting to be apathetic. In a world so full of distractions I hope that ActNow will help make it easier for young people to be informed and make a contribution towards important issues. No contribution is too small.
I'm currently completing a masters of international social development. Besides social development, my biggest interests are politics, social sciences and current events of any description.
That is of course on matters of seriousness. I'm an absolute sport nut, specifically, rugby (GO THE WALLABIES) and cricket, (although our team is too good to really need cheering, and Warnie, why did you leave us?)
I'm also pretty keen on movies, music and having a good time at a venue that offers beer, music and pool. (sorry ladies, I'm definately one of THOSE guys. You know, the one who would rather play pool than dance.)
A quick note on my favourite band, Rage Against the Machine. They provided the soundtrack and the rage for my dissident thoughts, I love them, they are my favourite band.
