Hello, all. I'm Rebecca and am currently studying at Macquarie Uni. At home (Wisconsin) I attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison and am a Political Science major. So far, I'm loving life in Australia (especially the warm weather) and am trying to make the most of my short time here. I'm definitely open to suggestions on where to go/what to see/etc. in Australia--let me know!
In high school, I received a bracelet from an influential teacher with the inscription: be the change you wish to see in the world. I took these words to heart and started to get involved in student council and volunteering. In 2004, I worked on the Kerry/Edwards presidential campaign and witnessed first hand what could be accomplished at a grass roots level. I am a true believer that one person and one vote can make a difference. I think this website is an awesome way for young adults to not only learn about important issues, but also to gain understanding of the different viewpoints out there. Being educated about issues that are important to you is the first step in taking action. I look forward to posting, commenting, and learning.
