I must admit that I am at times something of an anachronism. My taste in music stops, with few exceptions, at year 2001. I yearn for the glory days of the 1990's, when slip-dresses were cool, Labor was in power and Jarvis Cocker was pop's unlikeliest sex symbol. The closest thing I come to modern taste is my passion for my iPod and my feverish anticipation of the next Harry Potter.
Yet, there is one constant that I hope time shall never fade, like me, into anachronism: the power of words. I believe that speech and writing have to affect change; to hearts and minds and thus the world. If I had a superpower, it would be a faculty with words.
For now, however, touch-typing will suffice.
