Hello, my name is Erin (obviously) and I was an ActNow Intern while I was studing abroad at Macquarie Uni in Sydney. I am a journalism student at the University of Missouri in the U.S.
I am extremely passionate about free speech and free media issues. I strongly believe that a free press is the way to maintain democracy. I think everyone should participate in their government (compulsory voting is a great idea!), and that means expressing their views thought any medium possible.
I am also interested in women’s equality; sexual health issues and AIDS prevention; religion and hate crimes; the immigrant experience and immigration reform; the integrity of science education in schools; photojournalism and Grey’s Anatomy.
