Name: Erland
I live: Sydney
I'm a climate change activist and work with the Nature Conservation Council of NSW. I'm 21 and really passionate about taking meaningful action to change our society. I don't think there's any question that we need to - just look at the environmental and social injustice that we create as a species. I think for me, so many issues boil down to equity: equity between species, equity between races, equity between genders, equity between generations, etc. In 2004 I stood for federal parliament against Phillip Ruddock. I live on a wildlife refuge and we run our family home 1/3 on our own solar system. We also grow some of our own food and herbs bio-dynamically.

We Haven't Come a Long Way, Baby 24-09-2009 11:36

Just a really short note to say that I wanted to share this excellent article with all of you from New Matilda, looking at the pressure on young girls to conform to pornographic ideals of female beauty and behaviour. It's an issue that's often (always?) overlooked by mainstream media in Australia - but not by ActNow!

Organising for Walk Against Warming 06-11-2008 05:42

Wow, the community response to Walk Against Warming in Sydney has been amazing!

With the help of hundreds of volunteers, we distributed 100,000 flyers and about 8,000 posters in just 5 days. Now we have another 100,00 thousand, but we're having more trouble shifting them as everyone who has been working hard to letterbox, poster and flyer has already given so much.

Can you help us get the rest out before the event on November 15? The Walk is on at 11am in Martin Place and goes from there to Hyde Park. Check out www.walkagainstwarming.org for more details
