Hi, I'm Heather and I am a new member of the ActNow Cash for Comments team.

I love to write about the issues that really matter to me. I am very fortunate to be able to indulge this passion through the Cash for Comments program.

Some things that really get me going include: The absence of a voice for young people, abuses of Australian indigenous rights, homelessness, gender inequality, the intersect between religion and politics, underdevelopment, humanitarian crises, poor standards of health, barriers to freedom of expression, individualism, greed and the fact that A Current Affair somehow still passes as news!

Youth engagement is so important. In a world where youth are often misrepresented by the media, where we are stereotyped as self-indulgent and impatient ‘Gen Y’s’ and where our rights are often stripped or ignored, it is difficult to have a say in how our future will play out. It is more important than ever that young people form networks through avenues such as ActNow. Even the smallest action taken together is a step towards a better future.

Make This A Hit

We're trying something new. Following on from the 2020 Summit, when the headlines are buzzing with an equal and reconciled republic, the nation's best-known performers have come together under the name of The GetUp Mob to release a new version of the Paul Kelly classic "From little things, big things grow". Already today it's splashed its way into the nation's papers. Now we want your help to make it a number one hit!

If together we top the charts, this message will rocket around the country's airwaves and TV screens on high rotation to an audience of millions that we normally don't reach - and it costs you just a $1.69 online to achieve that goal. Our power is in numbers, our message can inspire reconciliation. Click here now to view it (for free) and buy the world's newest history-making song:

From little things, big things grow. This song can fill every home, cafe, pub and workplace in the country with a message of hope that we will achieve reconciliation and equality for all Australian citizens - a resounding message from the 2020 Summit. So lets put it at the top of the charts. That's the beauty of the GetUp movement - you don't have to be powerful or well-connected: with tens of thousands of us all chipping in a little (it costs just a $1.69 to buy online and be registered on the ARIA charts), we can speak to an audience of millions.

Featuring Kev Carmody, Paul Kelly, Urthboy, Missy Higgins, Mia Dyson, Ozi Batla, Pat Dodson, and John Butler and the voices of Kevin Rudd and Paul Keating and more, this clip joins a proud tradition of achieving positive change through music. All profits raised by the song will go to our Reconciliation Fund and Aboriginal organisations on the ground. Help take our message to a new audience who we need to join us on this national journey, by clicking here to view and buy the song:

Now that we have the momentum of the Apology and the 2020 Summit, let's take that mandate to achieve an independent and truly reconciled nation. What better way to do that than send it straight to number one on the charts? The track only costs $1.69, but please feel free to donate as much as you feel appropriate. We'll also play the song at next week's Reconciliation GetTogethers.

Please, make sure you and all your friends are part of this chapter in Australian musical, political and social history by purchasing your copy of The GetUp Mob's "From little things, big things grow" today.

Thanks for helping make history,

The GetUp team and The GetUp Mob
