FIVE LITTLE KITTENS
Five little kittens
Left in the wood
Their mother gone
In search of food
A litter abandoned by society
A sad story of this variety
Too many cases like this I fear
Of animals turned away for lack of care
If each of us took the responsibility
for just one stray pet
And paid for their spaying at the vet
It wouldn't hurt the budget that much
You'd spend that much money on junk and such
You'd be doing a service to the animal world
And prevent the suffering so often hurled
At these poor creatures who have no voice
Who depend on us to make the choice
These starving babies left to die
And never knowing the reason why
Please do all that you can do
These are God's creatures too
