rightyo, i'm a uni student in Tassie, doing Honours in English and yeah, i love my state, so i'm interested in conservation issues. Ialso want to work in third world countries when i finish uni, help make poverty history and such! Right now i am most fired up about whaling, and stopping it completely. Even if those Japanese whalers are doing it for scientific purposes (which they're not) that should still be illegal, you shouldn't be allowed to kill whales for any reason, if they want to do scientific tests they should only be allowed if it doesn't involve killing. They make me so mad! I'm a member of Greenpeace and the Wilderness Society, mostly financial support only since i don't have much time what with doing an honours research project and being secretary of the Hobart chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society which also has a maxim of community service and fundraising and that sort of involvement. I reckon this site will be great because all the info will be in one spot, short and sweet with real and do-able ideas to make a difference in this world! I'm stoked to be a founding member!
