I'm a second year journalism and painting major at the University of Tasmania. I live with my boyfriend and our beautiful cat Frankenstien Frankenfurter, aka Frankie. I'm a actnow cash for comment writer and I write for new norfolks 'the loop' thats published in our local gazzette once a month. There are alot of things that need changing about the world but first and foremost I believe in preserving it. I'm lucky to live in Tasmania where I can constantly marval at the beautiful environment I'm surounded by. But alas everythings not perfect and our handsome little devils are dying from face disease our old growth are being made into pulp and theres a little rumour of a pesky fox. I really hope that the government makes the tassie devil a priority and finds a cure to save these unique creatures.

As well as environment issues I take an interest in politics and human rights. I believe everyone makes a mark in the world and thats why the decisions we make are so important.

publish problem - 30-05-2008 01:37 Last updated:

I joined act now after an email from my journalism class was passed round. Being the middle of semester I haven't had a chance to do any acting on important issues. its a crisis I think we all face now and then. Motivation. This semester at uni I dont think I've been going to well. I just cant seem to get my act together. however on the bright side I've joined a local group called Loop that writes youth articles for the NewNorfolk Gazette here in tassie. They're published once a month and are really struggling to get young writers to contribute. I feel really good about helping out and at the same type developing a portfolio of writen work. Its great to have a chance to give voice to opinions and situations around the world. The only problem is that there are restictions on what can or can not be published. poetry and any type of youth creativity apparently is not welcome in a newspaper. I really wish that there were more places other then the internet for young people to express themselves.

there thats my vent for the day, now I really should be starting my article on the importance of the Archibald Prize Competition in Australian Art Culture.
