I've been seeing alot about this on the news latley...and all these idiots saying that if we did sign it we'd loose so much wealth in our economy and blah blah blah..its really annoying the hell outta me. The government needs to pull their head out of Americas ass and reduce carbon dioxide emmisions. The average global temperate has risen 0.7 degrees in the last 100 years and we're apart of that. I realize that we have a MAJOR industrial industry that earns millions and millions and billions and billions of dollars every year but we have a moral duty as part of the global community to do our part to stop global warming....our government needs to look past national interest for a while and see that by being the largest emitter per capita we're killing the earth. I've got one word for you Mr. Howard: Internationalism.
It's not just the government...we can do things everyday to help out.
- Turn off appliences at the powerpoint: energys still being conserved even when the applience is turned off
- Line dry your clothes whenever you can instead of using the dryer
- Avoid using plastic bags at the supermarket and shopping centers: Most major shops offer environmental friendly bags for arounf $1
- Run your dishwasher only with a full load. It will save 100 lbs. of carbon dioxide.
- Use recycled paper
