Internet Pirates

Will the real pirates please step forward?

Visit the website of the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) or the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America), and they will try and convince you that movie pirates are the scum of the earth, stealing the shirt straight off the artist's back, starving them of feed and shelter.

But to be honest the real pirates are the recording industry themselves - the record labels that sign unfair, low-paying contracts with artists; the cinemas that charge truly exorbitant fees to see a movie, the high price of video cassetes and DVD's.

The industry bodies try to claim that movie pirates are hurting the industry, causing studios to lose money and produce less movies. In reality, anything that stops the crap movies you see today is good in my books.
