Police Misconduct in Victoria

A police officers job description is to serve and protect the community, not to serve their own little pitiful fetishes and protect their image.

A police officers job description is to uphold and enforce the law, not to disregard and abuse the law.
A police officers job description is to deter crime and punish those who offend, not to deter justice and punish those of innocence.

If you are blinded by the just and reasonable assumption that our national and state tax expenditure is used to fund a police force intended to serve, protect, uphold, enforce, deter and to punish, think again!

It has come to the unfortunate stage where innocent law-abiding citizens need protection from a police force we pay to protect us.

A continuing trend towards denial of civil liberties is on the rise with conniving, corrupt, and bias police officers unjustifiably and selectively targeting ordinary law-abiding citizens-mainly young people- whom once upon a time waved to them through the car window, but now fear their repetitive acts of terror.

Such illegal acts of police misconduct and mistreatments faced by our young generation-in which Australians future is dependant on- include continual acts of harassment, abuse, threats, bullying, stalking, violation of the most basic human and legal rights, and the exploitation of ones vulnerability and defenselessness due to lack of awareness regarding ones legal rights and limited legal and financial resources to fight back.

It ought to be recognized that not all juveniles are a menace to society. In fact, rarely is one a public nuisance and commits an unlawful act to an extent that endangers the comfort, health, safety, property or lives of people within the community.
Furthermore, any harmless crime is usually the result of little or no understanding of the law.

According to the following statement by the Victorian Police Force, 'Victoria Police works together with local community and businesses to identify crime and safety issues and establish effective solutions. Our reputation as the safest State in Australia demonstrates that Victoria has the right mix of crime prevention initiatives and modern policing techniques to ensure resources are focused towards reducing crime', We should examine and evaluate exactly what is the 'right mix of crime prevention initiatives' and how effective their modern policing techniques really are towards ensuring resources are focused on reducing crime.

One wouldn't imagine that the right mix of crime prevention initiatives include the selective targeting of innocent teenagers, 'random' inspection of motor vehicles 3 times a day, regular and frequent home visits at 3 o'clock in the morning on supposed police business incorporating intimidation tactics, stalking the selected 'trouble makers' for 10 km waiting for slight errors, issuing canaries to those who have recently obtained a Road Worthy Check the week before as a result of previous canaries, and illegally taking forensic samples without consent. All of the above should bring into perspective the actual ineffectiveness of such crime prevention initiatives and modern policing techniques.

It can be adequately assumed that our police force is in fact accomplishing the opposite of their objective regarding crime prevention, by encouraging mentally confused and determined teenagers to rebel against what they see as the public enemy. In many cases, young are susceptible to depression or even mental breakdown as a consequence to the police terror they are faced with on a daily basis. Some have even been driven away from their family and friends to another town, state and even country in an attempt to seek asylum in a new environment where they are unknown by the police force. The emotion of being defenseless lowers ones self-esteem and in some cases has resulted in attempted suicide by those unable to combat their fear.

Appropriate limitations and restrictions need to be enforced to prevent the continuation of police misconduct and the effects it has on the community. Members of the police force need to be aware of prevailing social values and the basic human and legal rights of the individual, and I strongly recommend they learn the actual law and not enforce their own law. Finally, the community, in particular venerable juveniles need to be aware of their legal rights to minimise their chance of being taken advantage of by the police who should know better. In a democratic and a well-developed nation such as Australia, no denial or violation of civil liberties should be tolerated.

Its time we stand up to them and show them who’s boss. After all, we pay taxes which pay their salary.
