A little over a month ago, a lingerie fashion show was held in Singapore. One of it’s main highlights of the night was a $134,000 g-string known as the ‘Triumph Luxurious Diamond Thong’. It was a black floral pattern consisting of 518 diamonds which totaled 30 carats and 27 white gold tassels! Interestingly enough, the thong is going to be for showcase only, and a spokesperson for Triumph promises it will be ‘dry-cleaned’ before placing it up on display.
I don’t know about you, but this just boggles my mind. First of all, for someone to be willing to spend that kind of dough for the production of a thong (NO ONE WILL EVEN WEAR) has to be ridiculously rich. Therefore, wouldn’t you think that if someone had that kind of cash to blow that maybe they would first consider donating to some kind of cause or research program? Hey, maybe help find the cure for cancer or save a kid or two’s life!
Here is some food for thought: according to infoplease.com, 74% of Dominican Republic of the Congo’s population is undernourished. This means that 3 out of every 4 people don’t have the sufficient amount of food intake to meet their daily need. Imagine being hungry and only having a 25% chance of feeling full for a day? How bad would that suck?!
Well do something about it. Instead of spending that cash on a new $300 dress for another Friday night, donate it to someone or something that actually needs it. You can’t even imagine how great doing something for someone else could make you feel!
