Actions for Kelly

Actions pledged by family and friends for Kelly.

On the evening of Wednesday 2 July, ActNow's Founding Program Manager, our much loved Kelly Betts, passed away after a long battle with cancer. She died peacefully with a smile on her face and in the company of those closest to her.

Kelly believed that by turning our thoughts into words, and our words into ACTION we can create positive change in the world.

In Kel's words: "I want Australia to realise that the only way we can become a better country and create a better world is by giving young people the opportunity and space to contribute."

In her honour Kelly's friends and family made a commitment to do ONE thing — no matter how big or small — that will make the world a better place. These actions are below.

As you complete your action, please use the discussion board below to reflect and share your learnings with others. You can also use it to pledge new actions you'd like to do in Kel's honour.

Kelly taught me the importance of not taking life way too seriously and the value of opposing views, so I pledge:

  • to bring random funness to someone's day and
  • to bring together converging views, by seeking out common ground. RIP Kelly.
