Why would anyone choose to walk or run 100km on their weekend?

The Oxfam Trailwalker is definitely the hardest thing I have done this year. The process included a number of sacrifices - such as giving up weekends of socialising to go bush and walk scores of kilometres in one day!

We held a movie night fundraiser to raise the required funds (a minimum of $1000 per team). This was was a lot of work and definitely put some strains on our team relationships.

The walk itlsef was long, hard and excruciating! It included walking through all hours of the night in pouring rain in the freezing Dandednong ranges.

The feeling of completion was absolute bliss - our team finished with all four members still standing and only minor casualties such as blisters and chapped lips.

All in all it was a great experience, not only did we achieve something as a team, but we also raised approximately $3000 which will go towards Oxfam long term community development projects overseas and in Indigenous Australia.
