public transport

How i got rid of my old bomb and started busing it.

I recently got rid of my old car and decided to start getting public transport to work and Uni. Since i'm a student the tickets are cheap as chips, the only downer is it takes me about two hours to get to uni each day. Although, there is an upside to this as it means if i've forgotten to read anything for class i have time to do it during the trip. I think that people living in the city should be grateful they have the option of public transport. I grew up in the country and if you didn't have a car you were stuck. I also understand that people living in certain parts of the city might not be close to public transport, this is something that the government should take care of. If governments made more of an effort then it would encourage the average Joe/Joette to have a go. Something that i find very useful is the trip planner on the Sydney buses website, it helps you work out how long it will take to get places especially when you're new in town. So my point is if you have the opportunity to use public transport please do everylittle bit helps, and who knows maybe if the trains, buses and ferries are crowded enough the government might start spending a bit more attention on public transport.
